A Fast Time: Bvlgari Daniel Roth Meets 2022 Mercedes S-Class

Here at yourwatch.com, in our quest to provide content that speaks to the lifestyle of watch enthusiasts, we bring you a blog series titled "A Fast Time." In this segment, we will go over cars and pair them with a watch that we feel would fit the vehicle's personality and its driver. It will be an enjoyable challenge for us, and we hope you tune in.

Our first car on the lot is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz S-Class!

The 2022 S-class lineup receives a handful of new additions. Most notably, the company's E-Active Body Control is now available. This fully active suspension system automatically adjusts each wheel's damping and level control to maximize ride quality and vehicle stability. Also newly available is the MBUX Interior Assist, which essentially recognizes gestures and hand movements towards the touchscreen or touchpad and highlights or activates the desired content. The system can also tell the difference between the driver and front-seat passenger and store individual preferences. The S-class comes in new colors, too: Nautical Blue metallic, Kalahari Gold (as shown below), Manufaktur Cashmere White Mango, and Manufaktur Selenite Grey Mango. The center console is offered in metallic black and silver or black dotted lines.

Based on the price for gas as of late, we figured it would be essential to point out the six-cylinder S500 is rated at 21 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. Stepping up to the V-8-powered S580 drops those estimates to 16 mpg city and 25 highway.

As far as a watch to go with this luxurious Mercedes-Benz, we chose the Bvlgari Daniel Roth Papillon Voyageur GMT in 18-carat pink gold. The history of Bvlgari and their craftsmanship from the brand goes perfectly with an S-Class Mercedes.

The Bulgari Daniel Roth Papillon Voyageur has an exhibition case back and signed automatic caliber 1307. The white/grey dial has a raised white segment to the top, jump hour window to twelve, second-time zone disc to the center, two semi-circular discs showing minutes between three and nine. The 18-carat pink gold case is fitted to a signed brown alligator strap with an 18ct rose gold double folding clasp.

Launched in 2012 as a limited edition of 99 pieces, the Papillon Voyageur GMT shows the time uniquely and innovatively. The local hours appear in the window by a 'jumping' mechanism while the reference 24hr display is mounted in the center of the dial. The minutes are indicated by two 'butterfly' indicators that alternately show and hide at either end of the semi-circular minute track.

Would you pair the Bulgari Daniel Roth Papillon Voyageur with the 2022 Mercedes S-Class in Kalahari Gold Metallic? Do the color tones play off of each other well? What watch would you pair with it?
